Exultate Deo Chamber Choir, Robert Sabourin, Director, will sing Choral Evensong on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Old Town Saginaw.  Father Curt Norman will be the officiant and Keven Simons will be the organist.

Evensong (Evening Prayer) is made up of organ music, hymns, canticles, sung prayer and an anthem.  Choral music will include “How Glorious Sion’s Courts Appear” by Christopher Tye (c. 1505-1573); “Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in B-flat” by C. V. Stanford (1852-1924); and “And I Saw a New Heaven” by Edgar Bainton (1880-1956).

Hymns will be “Who are These Like Stars Appearing” ( Zeuch mich, zouch mich);  “O Trinity of Blessed Light” (Bromley) and “Ye Holy Angels Bright” (Darwall’s 148th).  Organ music will include “Elegy” by George Thalben-Ball (1896-1987) and “Toccata” by Rachel Laurin (B. 1961).

The service is open to the public free of charge.  St. John’s Episcopal Church is located at 

123 North Michigan, Saginaw, MI.   Barrier free access is available on the south side of the building from the parking lot on Michigan and Court Street.
